Made in the USA companies

Proudly Made in the U.S.A

For years American manufacturers dominated the global market. America produced everything from cars, electronics, firearms, clothing, and toys. Today, finding products that are exclusively made in the USA seems to be nearly impossible. As manufacturers move over seas to lower production costs, American made products are becoming rare and harder to come by.

In 1965 American manufacturing accounted for 53% of the global market, by 1988 American manufacturing dropped to 39%, and in 2004 reports show that USA is only 9% of the global manufacturing market. This has not only affected the American way of life but has altered our job markets. As manufacturing plants move overseas, so do the jobs.

I find it very ironic to see people wearing “Born in the USA” shirts that are made in China or Taiwan. American pride is now being outsourced and no one seems to care. Companies that once used to take pride in being “Made in the USA” are now cutting corners and playing both sides of the manufacturing world. In all fairness to these companies, demands for lower priced products forces their hands to seek lower production costs in other countries.

Understandably, manufacturers don’t care about anything but their product output and generating revenue. The share-holders of a company don’t care how and where their products are made. They just care to see their stock prices increase. In the manufacturers mind, cutting production costs and increasing output and productivity equals increased revenue. It’s up to us as the consumer to stand up and say “NO MORE”.

Just when you thought all hope is gone, here comes PsychoDad.com to the rescue. There are still American pioneers out there that continue to manufacture and produce products that are 100% made in the USA. These companies take pride in their country and the quality of their products. Next time you want to buy some jeans, shorts, a tshirt, or anything, make sure its from one of the following MADE IN THE USA companies listed in the categories below.
